For this is not just about a naive Vermont (or is that Montanna?) freshman stumbling his way not only through surreal Manhattan but a Manhattan Mafia don's scam ("Scam is such an ugly word," says Marlon Brando with aplomb, and we find ourselves roaring with laughter ... again and again). No, this great film, perhaps Brando's best in his understated parody of The Godfather figure, gets into his soul and that of the virginal youth ... "The Freshman" is an unforgettable film. Splendidly directed, funny yet interspersed with moments of pathos ... oh yes, this is a classic not to be missed, in a class all its own. BRAVO!

A Must See Movie
This movie is so clever and the acting is superb it has become one of my favorite movies. This is something that should be watched without commercials. Matthew Broderick and Marlon Brando are fabulous together. The plot is great and Penelope Ann Miller is a star. love this movie.

Great Funny Movie
I have watched this movie many times. It is a great oddball comedy. Even when you know what is going to happen you still have to laugh. There are several lines from the movie that my wife and I quote all the time. The casting is perfect.

Hilarious sleeper movie!
This a sleeper that has great acting by Marlon, Matthew and Bruno! This is a movie you pull out everyone once in a while if you need a good laugh!
