Notes
Reissue of this 2009 two CD collection. The Ultimate Bee Gees features songs spanning their entire career. This set was released to coincide with the 50th anniversary of The Bee Gees. Although the group did not start recording until 1963 on Festival Records in Australia, they began calling themselves The Bee Gees in 1959 after several name changes such as Wee Johnny Hayes and the Bluecats, The Rattlesnakes and BG's. Each disc is themed with the first containing more upbeat songs, called A Night Out, and the second containing slower songs and ballads, called A Night In, though the cover art does not distinguish this theme. Liner notes were written by Sir Tim Rice. This also marks the return of the 1970s era logo on an official Bee Gees release, which was last used in 1983.

    E-Bay over PBS any day - great value

    Lately PBS has been running the One Night of Bee Gees and although it was tempting to get the songs thru their offer, this is a much better offer. The anthology these CDs represent covers the many moods of the Bee Gees and reflects the changing styles of popular music over a few decades. I'm sure to enjoy these songs over and over, even though my disco years are far behind me.

    Great Value

    I have been a Bee Gees fan for over 40 years. These 2 CD's are of great quality and a great value. All their greatest hits. A must have for any Bee Gees fan. I LOVE the Bee Gees!!

    Nothing to complain about the Bee Gees as far as the songs themselves. Excellent!!!

    You can hear the songs but a remastered version would have been a better choice to buy. I wasn't thinking. The recording is low volume and not top quality compared to 2022 music in my itunes or playlists.
