It was shedding a lot before I washed it and it did improve a bit after washing, but still had blue lint balls on it in places. I guess I need to spend at least double the cost to get the best value for my buck. It doesn't appear to be what lapis blue should look like. The blanket has a mixture of light turquoise and blue, which is not what I expected, but in the low light of my apartment I figured it was close enough.
