These high-performance Sony SS-B3000 Bookshelf Speakers are small in stature and deliver enormous sound. Their impact is partly due to their advanced 8-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter. Coupled with the frequency response of their enhanced 3 1/4-inch midrange driver, these speakers provide a full-bodied audio quality. These speakers' small size carry a large depth of sound. The bookshelf speakers' robust quality allows you to hear music and movie audio as it was meant to be heard. The tones are crisp, clear, and true to life. Use these speakers as part of a surround-sound system or for stereo audio enjoyment. In either case, you will get the same high-resolution sound that you would expect from a Sony product.Each of the Sony SS-B3000 speakers connects separately by speaker wire to a receiver or amplifier. That device can connect to other accessories or devices, such as a TV, home theater, or PC. The SS-B3000s are compatible with Blu-ray players, DVD players, and many other home theater accessories. They feature three-way construction with a three-way crossover channel, and they are magnetically shielded. Each speaker contains a woofer, midrange, and tweeter driver. The cone-type woofers are made of Kevlar highly oriented polyolefin or HOP. Also called mid drivers, the midrange drivers sport an enhanced HOP cone. The tweeters are a nano-fine balanced dome type. The set's enclosure style is a bass reflex.Providing high-resolution sound reproduction, the system has a frequency response of 50 to 50,000 hertz. With sensitivity to 88 decibels, these speakers have a maximum input and output power of 120 watts. The impedance rating is 8 ohms, and the system has a push-type terminal. These speakers offer passive amplification and can be connected to a powered subwoofer as well.Suitable for all decor hues and styles, the speakers are black. Both of them have a detachable front grille, which is also black. Each speaker is about 20.88 inches tall, 9.44 inches wide, and 10.38 inches deep with its front grille in place. Instead of sitting vertically, they can rest horizontally. Each one weighs about 14.31 pounds. Designated as Sony model SS-B3000, each is part number SS-B3000. Caring for the exterior of this pair is easy. Simply wipe it with a soft, clean cloth once in a while. This is sufficient to keep them clean.One additional benefit of having a set of two speakers is that you can create a stereo effect. Ideally, your listening spot and their locations should form a triangle with equal sides. Setting each speaker on a level, hard surface and at least 4 inches from walls enhances its safety and performance.     DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PERSON!! They do not sell items as described. This item came broken to me. The description of the item was works and ready to run. There was no description of anything broken. The locomotive has a broken place which I had to take in for repairs. The tracks do not work or run. I have to buy new track. I asked for a $20 refund from the seller which was refused. I have to spend $50 on new track plus the $20 to take the locomotive in for repairs. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS PERSON!!

    Seller backed out of sale after bidding was closed, refunded deposit, and made a deal with another bidder offline after the no reserve auction closed. Incredibly shady. Wouldnt provide anybdetails of address for pickup or clear title. Don't deal with this lying dirty underhanded selller ever.

    The buyer had no intention to follow the terms of this auction. She has not made the deposit within the required time- thus the sale was voided. The buyer has not settled the outstanding balance due neither nor has shown any intention to do so. I was under no obligation to sell the vehicle to this bidder or to accept her ambiguous terms of settlement in cash at some later date.

    Awesome Sony speakers

    These speakers sound fantastic !!. It’s a perfect marriage of 3 speakers that sound as good as I’ve heard from this size set-up. Sony created an absolute jewel.

    Great Speakers Now Discontinued

    Wonderful sound. These are now discontinued and the speakers Sony has replaced them with are far below expectation. I replaced a set of the newer model with a used set of these and the sound is so superior it's inconceivable. The sound field is wider and clearer than the new model. The speakers, crossovers and even the enclosure all add up to much better audio quality.

    Good sounding speakers for the price

    I wanted smaller speakers for my living room but not too small. These Sony speakers will be quite good for what I want from a them.
