I would be happy to send you a new piece of cord. You are correct about the abrasion, these thick 14 gauge cords are difficult to braid without any abrasion (and the rayon cloth is more prone to showing abrasion vs the cotton), but what you have there looks extreme and not the norm, usually the abrasion is minor and almost unnoticeable.
