Loooooove!
For a long time, I used a 2nd generation kindle with a keyboard. I read in bed every night and I use a kindle nightlight so I don’t disturb my husband with the light on. It was cumbersome and the kindle was bigger than a book. Then I finally switched to the smaller, lighter 6th generation touch screen paperwhite. I loooooove it! We love Kindles of all kinds, but some minor changes would make it awesome.
My 95-year-old mom loves the paperwhite because the font size is adjustable to a size that she can see. I just wish that it was available in an 8 inch sized screen and the opening page brought up only the books that had been downloaded for her. We don't need "suggested for you" books listed - we'll find our own - and the cluttered screen confuses her. She reads 12 hours a day and the charging port has gone bad on three Kindles so far and the battery can't handle enough charging cycles before it dies. (I've bought five or six) and when the battery dies the Kindle won't operate while plugged into an AC power source. The latter is a huge negative for me. Just what my wife wanted
My wife, after trying a couple of Android tablets, decided she wanted something simpler, just to read books on. This model does just that -- no color display or Android programs of other kinds. It has a backlight for reading in the dark, but since that's off most of the time, battery life is very good-- it can often go a week without a charge. The screen as I've said, is only grayscale (no color), but sharp and clear for reading purposes (and you can make the type as large as you want). I don't know how many books it will hold, but with 30 or 40 on there now, it doesn't seem near capacity. Amazon makes one cheaper reader, with no backlght, and several more expensive ones, but this one seems just the right level for what she wanted for a reader.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

Solid product
Text and images look really nice and it does everything that I want from an e-reader. My only complaint is that it chokes sometimes when I try to select and look up words in the dictionary. Sometimes this process can be pretty frustrating with how slow it responds. Other than selecting and looking up words, this kindle is great. Perfect

The super Mario of all e-readers (Oasis might be Toad)
I never liked to read for what some would call "pleasure", but I've always loved technology. So package 1,000,000+ books in a device about the span of my hand (diagonally) and I became a new person. The Kindle store has a massive selection on a variety of genres, that I've come to appreciate. I've even managed to fine books in Chinese, my present language target, for practice. I'd love to be able to read certain Manga, but I need an account for the Japanese store. (don't even think they have Chi's Sweet Home for Kindle).... Anywho. Like I said I've only just learned to love reading and so I've been pouring myself over the Voyage, that means battery power is very important to me. I haven't had time to leave it idle so I can only tell you from a previous experience they sit there alive for more than 2 weeks (tried) and will still have at least half battery. But I use this thing every day for at least 6hrs per day, and Ive charged it twice in the span of 3 almost 4 weeks. Just awesome! The display is pretty decent. GLARE BEGONE!! I never get eyestrain and with adjustable font, boldness, and size my want for the possessing the power of variety keeps me at ease. (also background color for android devices, but then phones will give you eyestrain). There are lots of nice features as well. X-ray, in case you forget who a character is, will give you the lowdown. Page flip, which is a way to put your digital finger on a page and save it while you flip through the pages and then go back to where you left off. Searching within a book. Also theres ;ReadingTimwReset.... Type it just like that to make your Voyage relearn your reading speed, as getting distracted may cause you to stay on a page longer...... And..... Goodreads integration....... I feel that's all I have to say on that matter. Just awesome. Sits in my hand pretty great. I'm female so my hands are very big. 8" from wrist to tip of middle finger length, and about the same width from widened palm thumb to pinky finger. But then the awesome igadgitz case makes it easier. Pics included. I chose the Voyage over the Oasis and Paperwhite for these reasons: 1. Adaptive brightness 2. Most cost efficient(Features worth the price) 3. Glass screen 4. Haptic feed back buttons flush with the screen 5. This one came with an awesome case 6. Did I mention the price? Kindle e-reader - almost perfect
I'm really enjoying my Kindle e-reader!! The reader is light weight, easy to use and, holds many many books. It's perfect alone for well lit areas! Great little device!
I LOVE my Kindle Paperwhite 6th gen! It has about as clear a screen as you can imagine and very easy to use! Love everything about it and with the latest software update, it has all the new features and fonts. I bought mine on the after-market and paid about half what a new one would cost.
