    Works, but very difficult to install.

    I would recommend purchasing OEM. This didn’t fit in the hole very well (oem bumper) and I had to do some trimming and bending to ensure the locking ring would install correctly. Because it’s such a strong spring and has sharp edges, it’s easy to cut yourself installing this due to its poor fit men’s.

    No Way

    The GM parts book shows the slit righ inserted into the square hole in the rear bumper with the Spare Tire Lock Cylinder Housing inseted through the split ring, then the retainer ring fits over the installed spilt ring. The Spare Tire Lock Cylinder Housing WILL NOT pass through the split ring retainer easily and if you get that accomplished you now need a special tool to install the retainer ring in such a way the it forms a cap over the split ring retainer. Well, without a special tool of somekind it is impossible to do this. So, I am either an idiot that can't install this OR I have the wrong parts. The part numbers are what is called for in the GM parts catalog so all I can surmise is this job requires a special tool. Good lock.

    Beats the OEM price

    Probably made by the same company, but if not, I don't think it will be an issue, stock was 17 years old and still not rusted through, so even if it lasts 10 years, the truck will be 27 years old! and probably a pile of rust after the mid-west winters. Used this with an aftermarket bumper and worked well, just a tad difficult installing these things, but that's the design, not this products fault. Save your money and buy this over OEM.

    Didn't Fit without modification

    This lock ring did not fit properly. I trimmed it down and fought it for an hour and finally got it to work well enough to hold the lock tube in place. I am an experienced mechanic and have worked on autos for decades. The price was great, but in this case the OEM part(s) would be worth the extra money to avoid the hassle. Lesson learned on this particular part.

    Cheap price but poor quality. Aftermarket knock-off.

    Inner retainer ring was a struggle to install and when I finally did get it in (forcefully) the outer ring was very flared to the point that it did not sit in the opening of the bumper. Then installing the cap into the bumper was a struggle. Not a good aftermarket product.
