Based on CLAMP's phenomenally popular manga, MAGIC KNIGHT RAYEARTH has also spawned a television series as well as an OAV series. This volume contains four episodes from the first season of the television show. In it, three schoolgirls, Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, are summoned by a princess whose world, Cephiro, is being invaded by the malicious Zagato, an evil priest who commands an army of beasts. Hoping that they are the fabled Magic Knights that can help save her land, the princess places her trust in these three girls who have been thrust into a world beyond their comprehension. One of the best and most popular series of the 1990s, RAYEARTH is a hugely entertaining epic that combines sword and sorcery action with romance, adventure, and an intricately detailed and fascinating fantasy world. Contains episodes 9-12: "The Magic Knights' Greatest Crisis," "The Revival of Selece, the Legendary Rune-God," "The Legend of the Rune-Gods - In Cephiro, Another World," and "The Fearsome Illusionist Caldina."
