Very well made locking tuners
At this price point, for a locking tuner not from one of the established names, I wasn't expecting too much, but these tuners are excellent! As advertised they are 19:1 ratio and are very smooth in operation, with minimal backlash. The tuner buttons don't flop about, they are a tight fit on the shafts and when checked before fitting to the guitar, the tuner posts do not wobble about in the housings. The locking system is simple - the knurled thumb knob turns a threaded rod that runs up a hole in the centre of the tuning post - and if you unscrew it far enough it will 'fall out'. But this is unlikely to happen by accident, you need at least ten full turns anti-clockwise to unscrew it. Perfect fit on my PRS SE custom
Same performance as the brand name tuners for less than half the price? Brand names are great but bargain parts that perform at least as well if not better is more desirable to me! I have no complaints.... they are the perfect upgrade to this particular make/model of guitar! A couple of small upgrades (tuners/nut) will make a SE into a pro-level axe! Just a little side note - I originally got this guitar from a friend and started using it with my most expensive amp - a Clark clone of a '57 tweed deluxe. It sounded very nice, but less than awesome... until I plugged it in to my Boss Katana 100 watt. BAM! SUPER TONE! It's actually like a magic combination for classic rock/ blues/ heavy rock! Cuts through beautifully, articulate full rich gritty tone that you can tweak to your liking! Think ... Same performance as the brand name tuners for less than half the price? I wish I'd bought these sooner. I hate guitar string changes at the best of times but these make it an absolute doddle. I swap strings often from heavy to light and then to flatwounds and can now keep a few different sets in my bag for quick change over. Just slip the string through the hole, tighten the locking screw, tune, cut off excess. Easy. The tuners themselves I thought were excellent quality for the price and I've got no complaints at all. Obviously fitments can vary but they were a like for like swap on my Ibanez with 10mm tuner holes. I've added a few pictures of the 3 + 3 set fitted which are handed for either side of the head.I wish I'd bought these sooner. A great locking tuner for PRS SE Custom 24
This Vanson tuner is a direct drop-in replacement for the stock tuners. No mods of any kind are required as they are a perfect fit, but you will need to use your original screws because the Vansons are too small in diameter. Trust me, this is not a deal breaker. The chrome finish on the washers and nuts is not the same super bright finish as the stock tuners, but that doesn't bother me one bit. They look like highly polished stainless steel and they lock like they're supposed to. These are terrific locking tuners for the cost.This Vanson tuner is a direct drop-in replacement for the stock tuners. Variax jtv59 replacement
Always had tuning issues with my les Paul shaped variax, decided enough was enough and that the first step should be to replace the machine heads, I saw a lot of good reviews for these vanson tuners so I hoped they might alleviate some of the problem but actually they straight up cured all my tuning problems with one hit, actually tuning up the guitar is a lot easier due to the better ratio of the gears compared to the ones factory fitted on my variax, and it's holding tune much, much better, I've just fitted them along with new strings and once the strings had stretched in a bit the guitar held perfect tuning for an hour of noodling and pitch bending, awesome! I usually have to tune up every other song.
