Get what you pay for!
This is advertised as an 'Ash Body' which is a hard, dense and quite heavy wood. It's actually a cheap lightweight Balsa type of wood called 'Paulownia' which is not good for guitar and Bass bodies as screws etc. don't grip and being soft, marks very easily.
When I saw these advertised as Ash at a very cheap price I was suspicious and so bought a couple of kits. One of the bodies has black marks in the wood and so can't be used as a 'Natural finish' so I'm going to try and give it masses of sealer, primer and top coats to see if I can salvage something out of it.
Being a Guitar and Bass Tech for nearly fifty years I have boxes of spare screws as both kits have screws missing, (when you open the main box the screws and bits are everywhere).
I suppose if you where to sell all the parts separately ie. tuners, bridge, pickups, neck etc. you would probably get back what you paid for the kit but don't expect top quality items for the price.
