The great Hvorostrovsky live in your living room!
Wow! This is really wonderful. The DVD (actually Hvorostovsky) gets better and better throughout It is also good to see the orchestra and Conductor Orbelian. If you have the CD Moscow Nights some of those tracks are here, live, and with English subtitles. It is all very moving and liable to make you cry.

Poulenc works
Good value double CD of Poulenc's works. I bought it for the Concerto for Two Pianos which is (strangely) rarely heard. Definitely worth hearing.
Lots of other works as well.

An excellent mystery novel set in Greece.
First-class mystery novel capturing the essence of Greek atmosphere. Characters are well drawn and plot sustained right to end of novel. I found this book to be a "very good read" and shall go on to read more from the same author.
