A fantastic read !
S.W.T.O.R. Deceived by Shawn Kemp. This is the second release in The Old Republic series. The first book is (Revan) by Drew Karpyshan. I found this book to be a very good read. It is about the fall of the Jedi temple on Corussant. The attack was carried out by Darth Malgus who also happens to be the character pictured on the cover. Each book of this series is written by a different author so yo get a different feel in each book. This was the first book I had read by this author. I was not dissapointed at all. If you havent read this series and you are interested in any of the Star Wars series then I consider this book a must read. I gave this book 4 stars because I only give 5 star ratings to products that I consider to be the best of the best. So 4 stars is in no way a slight.

Star Wars The Old Republic: REVAN
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Star Wars T.O.R. (REVAN) - This is the first Book of The Old Republic series. The author is Drew Karpyshyn, who is also the author of the Star Wars (Darth Bane trilogy). This book is about the aftermath of Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic Video game, for which Drew Karpyshyn was a storyline writer and contributor to the game. People who have already played the video game will instantly recognize the lead charachter Revan. Those of us who have not played the game before such as myself will obviously know nothing of the storyline or any of the charachters from the game who are also in the book. So having already said that I have no previous background to go with the book I will give my opinion of it. I found it to be a good read considering the limitations that the author was under such as having to be restrained strictly to the Video Game storyline. The charachters are both believeable and interesting, although I clearly saw a need for more background on the lead charchters which you would obviously have if you had played the game. This is not a "feel good" book. What I mean is that if you are into the campy stuff like the fluffy little Ewoks and Jar Jar Binks charachters and The Jedi saving the day without suffering any substantial losses then this book is absolutely not for you. If however you are into Star Wars with a hardcore edge then you will like it. I purposely left out specifics about events in the story because it ruins the suspense and intrigue of reading it yourself. I feel that Drew Karpyshyn Is a breath of fresh air to Star Wars as a whole in that he brings an edge to it. He is a deep author whose writing style had me reflecting on the story well after having read it to fully understand what exactly unfolded. I do not give five Stars easily for any product as I reserve five stars for only the absolute best. However, I do give this book three and a half stars and that is not a slight in any way. I highly recommend this book even though as I said previously that I have not played the game. If however you have played it you may give it higher marks and it would be worthy of it. What I am about to say has nothing to do with this review in particular but if you want to really see Drew Karpyshyns talent really shine then you Must Read the Darth Bane trilogy. The bottom line of my review is to answer your question of is this book worth me spending my money on- then my answer is Yes I believe it is and definitely follow it up with the second book in this series called Decieved - you wont be dissapointed.
