Great Sci-Fi and Engrossing Characters
The depth and breadth of this Sci-Fi experience makes it superior to many of our other favorites. Sure, there are the usual contrivances to overcome impossible odds, and there is some questionable science, but the character development and action makes up for those.
The main characters develop relations that evolve and sometimes revert over time. Each shows times of greatness, weakness, and even disappointment. They develop love-hate relations that change or endure.
The characters inserted into new episodes are amazing. "You can't tell a book by its cover" certainly applies. Some attractive ones turn out to
be treacherous; some ugly slobs turn out to be the brightest allies.
Great humor also. Especially Crichton's frequent references to earth TV shows or political and historical events; references always lost on his fellow travelers.
I've gotten to Season Three, and it's been great to relive the experiences of long ago. I also acquired the final wrap-it-all-up "The Peacekeeper Wars''. What a concept! To provide resolution to any and all questions when a series is suddenly cancelled! At least I hope it does. I'll let you know.
