Doesn't have the same, cheap gears of every other opener we've owned. Works!
Maybe we haven't looked hard enough, but we've tried can openers from a lot of brands (many with great reviews) and they've all had the same, cheap gears that wear within a month or two. We even had a couple desealing openers fail on us before we got this one. This is different. It looks different, feels different, and just works. Both our kids' grandmas swear by this opener; I don't know why we didn't try it earlier!

Very poor quality control
The one I ordered came with a couple weird blobs of black stuff on it, under the sticky film that isn't supposed to come off. It's a good thing it wasn't even what I ended up needing or I would have been pretty upset. I can't say if it works or not, since I didn't end up using it.

Noise filtering for the price of a normal strip. Great product!

It seems to work as well as a much more expensive Furman power conditioner for filtering out electrical noise. By the filter specs, it should filter about the same frequencies as a Furman, with even more attenuation. Couldn't be happier!
