Started on eBay many years ago. As a Project Manager for a Fortune 500, I was asked to liquidate company assets which consisted mostly of furniture. I knew nothing about eBay and little about computers. But I have been doing it ever since.

    Don't judge a book by it's cover.
"When Things Fall Apart" is a catchy title but if your husband has just asked you for a divorce, your teenage daughter is pregnant and your doctor wants to schedule an appointment to discuss the results of your recent mammogram, don't rush out and buy the book based on the title alone. This is not a quick fix if your life is falling aprart. This book is a look at life through the eye's of a Buddhist nun. While I am familiar with Buddhist philosophy, I am not a Buddhist. Buddhism does offer some unique perspectives on things and this is part of it's appeal but for the most part it is too passive and too introspective for my Western upbringing and quite possibly for yours. In addition, I think that meditation, while it can be helpful is largely self-deception. How many enlightened people do you know? But that's just my opinion. My mother used to say that life isn't a fairy tale - most people don't live happily ever after. Buddha said something similar some 2,500 years ago. Having read Pema Chodrons, "When Things Fall Apart", one could use my mother's wisdom to summarize the theme of the book: Life ain't no fairy tale. As the sole caregiver to my mentally challenged adult sister, I am very familiar as to when things fall apart. In my world it happens everyday. We just rush from one crisis to the other. The first tenet of Buddhism or the Four Noble Truths is that "Life is suffering". My mother would have agreed. Maybe the problem is you or maybe the problem is that your life really does suck. The question is whether or not you are interested in hearing any more or should you just refill your prescription for anti-depressants, start cooking dinner and leave life's mysteries to those who have the time and the inclincation to run off to a cloistered abby and contemplate their navels. Chodron basically says "Look, bad things are going to happen to you". It doesnt mean that you are repaying some karmic debt or that there is any great mystery waiting to be unraveled here. Chodron through stories and parables doesn't focus on the fix because at some point there is nothing more that can be fixed and even if you fixed this problem, the next one is waiting right around the corner. In Existentialism, this is called The Abyss. Whether you call it The Abyss, Karma or Fate, sooner or later you realize that there is no way out. So what to do? What Chodron focuses on here are the feelings that we as human beings experience just by living. It doesn't matter whether one is a Buddhist, a Baptist or an Atheist. Rather than solutions, Chodron encourages you to: 1. Self-Exporation and 2. To practice compassion for yourself and to extend it universally towards others. As in the case of my sister or the diagnosis of Stage 4 Breast Cancer, you realize that you have reached a point where nothing more can be done and you just have to deal with the feelngs. Chodron offers a different and sometimes challenging perspective on handling the feelings of resentment, anger, loneliness and withdrawal that are the results of simply being alive and arriving at The Abyss. I find no fault in Chodron's writing and if the subject matter is acceptable to you then I would recommend the book. If you are not sure if all this introspection and Spicy Bean Sauce meditation offers any more than a 10 mg Valium does you are not alone; it certainly isn't as convenient. PharMeDoc Contour Memory Foam Comfort Cooling Gel Pillow - New 2017 Model

Personally, I like the pillow design very much!
I have bought dozens of pillows over the years and this is one of the better ones. First, I am a back sleeper and the two levels of contour height suit me very well. I am not sure how well this works if you are a side sleeper. Second, I hate having a hot, sweaty head when I am sleeping and this addresses those problems very well. Yes, the pillow is very firm at first but your head weighs some 20-30 pounds so eventually, it will create its own nook. As for the smell, separate the pillow from its packing and leave it in a closet for a week. That is what I did and now there is hardly any odor at all. I don't even notice it.
