A day in the Life of Witold Gombrowicz-the best writer you never heard of
Witold Gombrowiz was an esteemed Polish writer in exile who went to Argentina in 1939 to escape the Nazi's. His novel, Ferdyduke, made a literary splashin Poland before the war and so he was somewhat known when he landed in South America. For many years he lived in lonliness, poverty but slowly he began to refind his voice. He was miserable but he was alive. He remained in Argentina for 24 years. In 1953 he began to write for a Polish exile newspaper to make enough money to surive and and many of these Diary entries, were part of those submissions. But none of this tells you who Gomborwicz was or what a great writer he is. No matter who you are and what you think you know, Gombrowicz will still blow your mind because there is no one like him. He is deep, self-absorbed, and sometimes petty, but you will never see the world or writing the same way after you spend a few hours, days, or months with him. "I am not aghast at the change in living conditions, the fall of states, the annhilation of cities and other surprises spurting out of the womb of History, but that fact that a fellow that I knew as X suddenly changes to Y, changes his personality like a jacket, and begins to act speak, and think, and feel contrary to himself fills me full of fear and embarrassment." "The player sat in space, as all players do." Sun Ra from the book
This book contains great wisdom and flights of human imagination. Sun Ra was from another planet whether he was from another planet or not. His poetry cannot be ignored, although it probably is by too many--he has a distinct voice that comes across in every poem. I love his poetry too because for the most part he focuses on the eternal, transformations and expression through creative dimensions and his use of words and thought. It fits well with his music. He tends toward philosophy in his written words...which are more like teachings.
I first discovered Sun Ra when I read his classic word statement...."The is of the was." ...if you can get behind that, you'll like it all....and don't forget to check out his full length movie, Space is the Place. charles putris

More than I expected
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich The Fender round neck resonator I purchased on line is a very functional guitar with a great tone. I'd read some insulting reviews in the blogosphere about Chinese manufacturers but the guitar I purchased is solid, nice looking, and worth the price. I've never seen or played another one so I may just be lucky, but I did listen to several on u tube and a bulk of the videos back up my belief that the Fender is a solid beginner to intermediate model resonator with good playability and sustain. If you like the starburst look and the "F" style signature on the top you might give the Fender a go. I'm very ok with mine.
