great book-easy to follow directions w/ colored papers in back for imm. use
This is a great book that briefly explains some about the history of airplanes, but is very colorful and simply explains how to fold the most popular types of airplanes. This book is intended for anyone who is about 3rd grade up to about 6th grade. It is simply written, contains colored papers in the back that can be torn out and used for immediate use. My 4th grade grandson had a blast with it. We first followed the instructions how to fold, then tried some of the pre-colored planes in the back.

Resources are varied, but old
Since I am a retired teacher, I thought this may be very useful. However since this book was published in 1998, many of the resources are out of date.
First 83 pages are resources listed by states in US. Then a few pages about Canada, followed by 10 pages of correspondence schools I never heard of and finally 30 pages of resources and periodicals. All 1990's or older. Last 20 pages are lists of homeschool articles,books, and web sites that deal with teaching subjects at home for all levels.
Was not as helpful as I was hoping for.

Great for beginning readers
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I am homeschooling my 4 1/2 year old grandchild and she is enjoying these books. These books are simple enough she learns a couple of sight words and can read a book. The paper copy of the same book allows her to have a book she can carry around and practice reading. Beginning readers need to view themselves as successful readers and this program gives them the opportunity.
After 25 years of teaching experience, I highly recommend them.
