Great cookbooks
I've been a fan of Southern Living and their recipes for years. I was very disappointed with the annual editions as they had very few pictures and I love the pictures of the food. The Christmas ones have lots of eye pleasing pictures to accompany the great recipes.

Not one of her best
I have become a Karen Kingsbury fan but had mixed feelings about this book. I immensely disliked and was offended by her portrayal of Jo as an ignorant hick from North Carolina. There are many educated people in the South that speak correct English and are not loud and obnoxious. Jo came off as "white trash" which was totally unnecessary. She could have been portrayed as a normal person without hurting the plot of the story.

Much better tha Time to Dance
A Time to Embrace was a much better story than A Time to Dance. The characters interacted with each other in a more realistic way. Plus in this book Jo was not portrayed as quite as ignorant as she was in the 1st book. Kingsbury still has her stereotyped as an uneducated southerner but it is not as obnoxious. Still not as good as the Baxter family series but enjoyable.
