Fair and Honest
I did plenty of research before purchasing this item. I chose the Rubbermaid because the straps go across the bag instead of simply having anchor points. These were the main points.
Noise, It should be noted that anytime you strap something to the roof of your car it will make noise. The noise was not bad however on the 4 hour trip that we used it on.
Gas Mileage, Gas mileage is often affected when you alter the aerodynamics of your car, but I didn't see any significant difference.
Tie Downs, The tie downs seem to be plenty strong and were adjustable. They go completely across the bag so you don't have to worry about them tearing loose mid trip with no other way to tie it down.
Room, There was plenty of storage room.
Weather Proof, After research, I understood that there is a difference between weather proof and weather resistant. This product is listed as weather resistant, so I packed everything in plastic garbage bags to keep them dry. However, this product should not be considered weather resistant either because the weather resistant coating on the inside was coming off after the first 4 hour trip and you could literally see through the canvas like material. We did encounter some light rain, and the bags kept everything dry. We also did not have any sharp items that could have damaged it inside. Only towels and bed linens were inside when the coating started coming off.
Durability, Other than the coating on the inside, the bag seems to be durable. It done fine 4 hours each way. The zippers seemed to be plenty strong.
I will probably use again. For the money I would probably recommend it. I would have given a higher rating but the inner coating should have last more than half of our trip. If I had not researched prior to using it, our stuff would have gotten wet too.

Great Value
Great Value! I read all the reviews before purchasing this product, so I Knew it's weak points. For the price I decided to go for it. It was for my teenage son who has had zero problem carrying his Bass around in it.
