Essential PCI card for older pre-USB 2.0 computers

This USB 2.0 PCI card uses the highly rated NEC chipset. It updates older computers fitted with USB 1.1 and earlier enabling them to communicate with modern smartphones and quickly transfer larger files between USB memory sticks and your comouter. From tests carried out using HD Tach, connection speeds for an old USB 2.0 stick data transfer speeds increased from 975 KB/s to 16.5 MB/s a huge improvement. On a newer PC data transfer speeds were 17.5MB/s. The PCI card also contains an internal USB 2.0 female socket to enable connection of additional front USB 2.0 ports onto the PCI card. Very well worth the money, no apparent slowing down of the computer.

Two times faster than Pentium D 820

This made an excellent upgrade from a Pentium D 820. It runs so much cooler than the Pentium D, consumes less power 65W compared to the 95W Pentium D but processes informatiin 1.5 to 2 times faster. After updating the motherboard's BIOS this was easy to setup with new drivers needing to be installed. My old PC can now play Bluray disks and edit1080p HD videos without overheating. A great upgrade.
