A historian's favourite places in Cornwall
Rowse takes us on a tour of his special places in Cornwall. He lived near St. Austell so naturally he tends to focus more on South Cornwall and less on his friend John Betjeman's North Cornwall.
The book mainly deals with historic houses and churches in the main, some well known, others less so. Where Rowse talks about the owners of the these houses the work naturally shows it's age and does seem a little dated - although it's a lost world that with the benefit of hindsight was not a bad place.
Some nice photographs but alas mainly black and white. Worth a read.

So disappointing
Parker called this new pen the "ingenuity " but it's nothing more than an expensive rather scratchy felt tipped pen.

A beautiful object
This duck egg blue version of the Roberts revival range is a lovely colour. You see these radios in houses on T.V. adverts they look so good. Not cheap but well worth it.
