Quick and quiet.
As the title says, its quick to first print and quiet in the living room.

Brilliant for amatuer photographers with future in mind
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich With a bit of a special holiday closing in fast, I decided I need a decent camera with specific features in mind (RAW file format and decent exposure settings).
It happened a friend bought a Fuji 'bridge' camera - which explained to me was 'a grown up point/click or baby DSLR - i.e bridging the 2'.
Reading some reviews of various cams and mixed opinions, I focused on what was available on ebay - one being the DiMAGE A2.
Reviews on the other cameras were mixed, but all pretty much unanimous with the A2, described as 'A camera designed and built by engineers who take photos!'
And the reviews are spot on!
For a camera that is a couple of years old, it should not put you off. It's well designed, quality feel and all features are placed nicely - no need to hunt for settings - it's all 1-2 presses away.
It accepts 49mm filters (I have a UV and a polarizing filter stacked) and repetitive shots are quick (tiny delay of 1-ish second per shot even in RAW mode, which for most users is quick - compared to any other camera I've had bar 35mm types)
Although the camera was designed at a time where 4GB CompactFlash was the max, testing it with a 16GB CompactFlash proved successful.
Do note however, that the cameras image counter (photos it can fit on the card) will read incorrectly with such a card (it counts down, then counts back up in a minute) but otherwise works perfect.
Which means I have room for approx 1450 images in RAW format (or 5300+ in JPG) - more than needed for my holiday!
RAW is particularly important for me as I wish to understand image processing at a deeper level, but for those who wish to have the camera output a nice ready-done JPG, it's still brilliant here!
When first testing the camera, I zoomed in full in Macro mode to a plastic bottle on the desk, which resulted in an extremely clear and detailed image of the bottles surface imperfections - unfaultable even in JPG mode.

It's a DPF.
Not sure what to 'review' on a DPF, but the old one died doing its job, and this one will be working to its demise too.
