Works for very hard nuts like black walnut
It is tough enough to crack black walnuts. So far I have used it for about a dozen black walnuts. It takes a little practice to crack the nuts without shattering them all over the place. I just put the cracker is a cardboard box and that really helped to minimize the mess. One note there are two rows of teeth separated by a grove down the middle. This design seemed strange to me. I expected the teeth to be solid all the way across. However, it still cracks the nuts pretty well so I am satisfied.
