There was no padding but padding was not necessary for this item and they were packed snugly in the box. What I didn't like- there was a strong cigarette smell, and the seller forgot to remove or cover an old shipping label which could have caused problems in shipping, but didn't. I don't anticipate any problems getting the smell out since they are plastic not fabric.

What you expect from dewalt
As usual with DeWalt - Highest quality at a reasonable price point.
This is the left handed version which means everything is backwards; things actually tighten lefty loosey and right tighty.
The depth guide is a little tough to use- it's in an even more awkward position than on the right handed cordless, but I'll get used to it.
The brake is nice, it feels good and solid with a 3 lb battery attached.
