Great pickup for the bridge position of ...

Great pickup for the bridge position of a strat type guitar. It does not sound like a single coil and does not sound like a full humbucker, but it does sound really good. I compared it with other pickups such as the Cool Rails, which I have on my other strat, and other pickups such as the Billy Corgan and the SD pickups, and what convinced me to buy the Pro Track is that not only does it have great overdrive and distorted tones, but it also has outstanding clean sounds. Worked great for me.

Super good, not just for the price

First of all, no single-coil sized pickup will actually sound like a P90. Just like no humbucker sized pickup will sound like a P90 - and I absolutely love my Seymour Duncan Phat Cats. So if a "real" P90 sound is what you're after, just get a P90 equipped guitar. But these pickups are absolutely unbelievably good, not just for the price (as are the Phat Cats...) The concept of the P90 is there - put magnets under the coil and away from the strings, and that gives you amazing sustain. Make the magnets big and you get a bit sound. And use AWG42 - this is important - to get good clarity and a full range sound that is not thin and does not sound dull. Finally having the screws go between the magnets all the way to underneath them, supposedly lowers inductance (or so I'm told) which in practice means the sound will have more clarity. DiMarzio's SDS-1 also does this and that is a good pickup, but it's wound hotter with AWG43 so in all honesty, I think this pickup is better than the DiMarzio. How do I know it's AWG42? My bobbins are nicely full (not overwound by any means) and the resistance reads 5.2K (neck), 5.39K (middle) and 5.43K (bridge). It's lower than what G.M. advertises, but not an issue - these are still quite loud and will drive your amp very nicely. I actually came here to buy a second set for my other strat but for now they are gone... might need to get yellow ones because this is the Strat sound I have been looking for all my life.

Great knife for a great price

Very well made, great value for what they are selling for (less than 10 dollars). I bought it to replace a 30 dollar knife that I lost, and it wasn't even as nice as this one.
