If you played the previous editions, get it for it's look into the world of 2013, and compare it to events going on now (2025 or later).
I haven't played since 1990 and then it was with the 2nd Edition rules, but the game mattered to me because I was 18 in 1983 and was in J.R.O.T.C. and watched "Red Dawn" and I hoped to be a Tank Commander and confront the Communists in Eastern Germany. I managed to do that with my alter-ego character in T2K.
I did hesitate when considering buying the updated version because of how world events turned out and the so-so reviews I read for this book, but some of the predictions the author put down are strangely close to reality as of early 2025 events.
However, I purchased it as reference source for reading only and recommend it for it's novelty.
