Doc Martin delivers more than babies
This British series of seven seasons following two 90 minute movies has consistency in the writing and actors. Although Doc Martin starts as an Ob Gyn in the movies , the writing allows him to transition into a vascular surgeon with blood phobia but no change in personality. Martin Clunes is consistent as the rude and Asperger's like middle aged single man in a small village who learns all his weaknesses and strengths. IT CARRIES WELL AS A STORY ACROSS THE SERIES WITH A FEW CHARACTER CHANGES BUT CONSISTENCY WITH THE VALUES OF THE COMMUNITY OF PORTWEN(PORT ISSAC) . THE HUMOR IS SOMETIMES SLAPSTICK AND SOMETIMES TRAGIC. bUT TRULY A UNIQUE VIEW OF VILLAGE LIFE IN THE 21 ST CENTURY WHERE SHEEP GRAZE AND THE DOCTOR DRIVES A LEXUS.
