A useless piece of steel
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich Unfortunately the Axe in spite of the promising design and shape does not work, now I tell why.
1) the shape of the cutting edge is WRONG it is to broad and it does not penetrate the wood to start the cut, have tried with soft wood as well, have tried to hit the back of the axe with 1.5 kg sledge, but nothing, I could not cut a single piece of wood.
2) The angle of a good cutting axe is about 4 to 5 degrees, the sides are straight.
3) The axe I received has the cutting edge much too broad and rounded, and do not penetrate the wood to cut.
Normally i buy 10 x 10 inch pole soft or hard wood cuts split in four parts, then, because of too big for my fire place I have to cut each quarter in further three parts to become easier to burn, it is normally a very easy job and I do this for the last 45 years. When decided to replaced my aged good faithful axe I hoped to improve the work.But I got a total disappointment.
Since I am a very experienced and versatile handy man if I cannot cut the wood, nobody else can cut it because of the shape of the axe has no penetration.I do not believe that the maker did not knew it, but possibly they tried to sell out the unsold stock by making a good sale description and put it on E bay to catch the fish like me.
I can only hang it on the wall to become a decorative item.
