Two Sim or not to Sim

The Nokia Lumia 530 comes in dual and single sim models and so if you do not need dual sim, check out the single version. They're basically the same phone but the single sim version may be available at a cheaper price.

By no means the latest of smart phones but if you're looking for an economically priced compact and functional phone this may be just what you're looking for. I wanted one that would fit into a shirt pocket along with my wallet and this does. It's sufficiently compact and slim line to operate most functions with one hand. It is perfectly adequate for making and receiving calls and texts, which is what I primarily use it for. The camera and the video are perfectly adequate too. It's a Windows phone and so if you have a Windows PC, it will synchronise so you can, for example, access your Outlook account if you use it. It also means you can see anything that you have stored in One Drive on the PC including photos. If you don't want this to happen, you'll need to store them elsewhere on the PC as you cannot do it directly from the phone. Nor can you remove the One Drive app to prevent this happening. No obvious issues with accessing the internet - it seems to respond quickly. As regards battery life, it seems fine to me but as I mainly use it for texting plus the odd call, it only needs charging every couple of days. That may not be the case if you're a more heavy user or one into playing games or music.

Note that it is a micro-sim phone. If, as I was, you are upgrading from a standard size sim, my advice would be to get your service provider to give you a replacement sim in the correct size rather than using a sim adapter. The adapter can very easily damage the phone's sim reader (so the sim card cannot be read) if you need to remove the sim for any reason - and I'm talking from bitter experience here!Vollständige Rezension lesen...

Volume

No volume even when set to highest number 10.can only hear when on speaker. Also keep getting Chinese icons coming up

Great phone

Double sim phone. Commendable.

Good value for money if you need basic phone, be aware of the screen!

The biggest problem with this mobile is it's display, it is unreadable in bright daylight. I also had problem with the navigation, it couldn't locate me correct, when it happens to do it it takes to long, and when I start to move the dot did not follow me, so I got rid of it. I had this problem also with Nokia 730 DS and with Prestigio 8400 DS and strangely enough I don't have this problem with my Nokia 620!Vollständige Rezension lesen...
