My guitar authority friends agree (who have multiple Taylors and Martins) are completely taken aback - They cannot understand how Yamaha has been able to package all this at a fraction of the cost of these more prestigious guitars. The action is part of your hand. The tone depth and fullness are just stop and listen to. great inexpensive instrument that sounds good enough to play in the studio or gig with....
The yamaha 730s is such an under-appreciated instrument. It sounds nearly as good, if not better, than many more expensive guitars I have played, including Martins and I love the yamaha neck. At a sound hole bar pickup and a fishman preamp pedal and you have an excellent electric. Best deal on a guitar I ever made.
Am a lifelong fan of Yamaha guitars. At any one time, I will have at least 5. The FG700s and FG800 were my favorites until I got this, but it is a definite step up in looks and sound. A solid Sitka spruce top, on a guitar that a beginner can afford, Where else do you see that? Nowhere! I got a great deal on a b-stock, and it took me a week to notice a minor blemish. Playing guitar for 22+ years. Ive been around a lot and seen whats out there. The yamaha fg730s is a well built and high quality. The price is very fair compared to gibson or taylor instruments. Vey nice guitar!!
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and sound of this guitar. In truth, my expectations weren't all that high but it was what I could afford.
