Very interesting review of her adventure...........
With good photography of GREAT scenery, and an EXCELLENT portrayal by Reese Witherspoon of Cheryl Strayed, the agony within this woman is brought to the screen with passion and realism. Her wilderness adventure unfolds with flashbacks, though not chronological, that dissect her for the audience in a way that envelops you in her burning desire to understand and ACCEPT all that has happened to her and all she has done to create the person she is.....as well as finding the woman she wants so desperately to BE. Involving the author so fully, in the making of the film, along with some perfect casting, has created a moving film about a true experience that captures you from the beginning. and doesn't let you go till it's over. Though it's not for 'everyone', with some rough language and sexual scenes, and it's not a 'swashbuckler rousing adventure', it DOES rate a solid 4 stars, as a well-made telling of a true-life quest. I enjoyed it very much.

Disc had clearly visible scratch that made me play the disc before providing feedback. Disc worked fine so is in the Acceptable category instead of Good.

Great movie, my dvd was a copy though
Thought I was buying a true version of this movie, but when it arrived it was clearly a copied dvd of the movie. The dvd does play fine and there’s no issues there (great movie!) but I was a bit upset over the fact that the ‘original’ dvd I bought was a rip.

Not a well known movie, but a great one!
I saw this before but it is never on so I ordered it so I can watch it whenever I want.

Incredible Book of Self Exploration.
Loved every minute reading this book. I love to hike and like Ms. Stayed I have no idea what it truly takes to get prepared for months in the woods. What a great read about finding yourself and who you are.

Good movie
If you like the great outdoors and a movie where the main character gets her life back on track and ends well, this is the movie for you.
