Many folk like games workshop games, Even more like their epic "Warhammer 40,000" universe, but at the same time many folk do not like the bible sized rule sets that go with such games. In walks "Deathwatch: Overkill". A straight to the point, no nonsense, story driven, action packed casual board game that helps provide gamers a chance to immerse themselves in the epic gothic-ness of the 40k universe without having to spend weeks and months learning a the usual rules associated with games workshops flag title. The game really is easy to learn and can be easily digested in a night. Whilst you are going over the rule set in its tiny wee pamphlet you will also get to grips with the backdrop for Deathwatch: overkills story, learn about the main heroes of the campaign as well as the games many villains, and believe me there are a lot. Which brings me to the next point... the models. Games workshop have went all out for this and provided a plethora of character models, each individual, well designed and well though out to provide you with hours of entertainment assembling and painting. To be honest, you'll properly spend more time assembling the models in Deathwatch than reading the rules, and I think this is a good thing. Although I don't see Deathwatch replacing or even rivalling games workshops other flagship titles, I do believe that what it does is fill a definite appealable niche in the casual game market. Its quick, its easy and its full on, allowing players to try different approaches towards missions each time they play. I think games workshop should definitely try doing a few more spin off games like this, perfect openers for any games night.Vollständige Rezension lesen
