Excellent furnace transformer replacement
Good
1. Easy saddle mount . Holes for #8 screws.
2. Wires pre-stripped and tinned.
3. Better for the higher current Taco Zone Valves. 1.6A instead of the common 1.2A transformers. [1.6A = 40VA ; while 1.25A = 30VA]
4. Class 2 for constant duty.
5. Additional wires for optional 208Vac primary input. [If used with the 120Vac input, output is 15Vac. 15Vac still operates the zone valves, but slower although the valves would last a very long time].
Bad
1. Only 8" wires. Others are 10". 2. No mounting hardware. 3. No internal thermal fuse. 4. Larger than the original.
The combo of both high current demand Taco zone valves being on and furnace heat during a cold winter night, damaged the original transformer. This higher current output transformer although a little larger, is a better replacement.
