Why someone overpainted - poorly, by hand - the entire telescope in matt white paint and stark blue is beyond anyone's guess (I assume a former owner let a kid have at it :) ). It was a gamble, but this is a very rare scope and will give me weeks of enjoyable restoration. It should come back to at least a VERY good example.
