  • Interesting with some good pictures

Well researched. Interesting read and some great photographs. The print quality could be better but all in all a good addition to my collection

  • A History Of Fairground Transport.

This is a well illustrated book, documenting how the fairground cultures evolved. It starts from the beggining, the show people with horses and carts proving the ability to be different. This book takes you through the stages of showman development from getting traction steam engines for power and the magical addition of electricity - lighting and power for rides - to getting as a result of war improvements the lorry and power generators to give us the 50's,60's & 70's Funfair as we know it today. .Many pictures from the distant past to very new as Bensons Waltzer shows, from Henry V to the newer ERF Unit. Most showman groups are presented within this book Harris's, Edwards's, Bensons, Tuby's, Collins, Scarrotts, and many more. A rare and very educational read if you have any passion for days Gone.... Top Marks, Highly recommended for not only the enthusiast, but as a general insite in how we got here ! 11/10 marks.

  • Very informative book.

I've always been interested in showmans transport, both travelling fairs and circuses. I already have several books, pictures and DVDs but found this book covered a few missing gaps. Very good read and great pictures.

  • Fine for Southern enthusiasts.

Well researched and well illustrated, but very little concerning the North of the country, which was a disappointment to this reviewer.
