Product Information

Square Enix's PS2 classic returns with new gameplay features and enhanced graphics in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. The action is set in Ivalice, a land of swords and sorcery familiar to veterans of Final Fantasy Tactics. Here, magic and technology coexist, as do humans and other intelligent races such as the leporine Viera and the scaly skinned Bangaa. Airships, in the form of high-tech hovercraft, are also common in this land, and players will pilot these sky-speeders for transportation, warfare, and (perhaps) even a little privateering.<br><br>Character development is designed to be as engaging and empowering as in any Final Fantasy game, and is accomplished by making strategic license choices in a chessboard-like graphic interface. The new Zodiac Job System allows players to cater character leveling to their own preferences, and the game's Active Dimension Battle system, combat progresses in a pause-able real-time flow, offering a sense of action while retaining tactical options. Companion characters can be assigned customizable battle behaviors ahead of time, through the game's gambit system. The Zodiac Age also adds a new Speed mode, and a Trial mode in which gamers can take on foes in up to 100 consecutive battles.<br><br>Ashe, the princess of a small kingdom called Dalmasca, is the star of the story, although she is joined by several other driven and distinctly skilled characters. The nearby Archadian Empire is in a period of reckless, vicious expansion, and as heir to the throne of Dalmasca, it falls to Ashe and her companions to save the sovereignty of their tiny nation from imperial usurpers. Characters and movie scenes have been remastered in HD, while the sound has been bolstered by new background music, high-definition voice acting, and 7.1 surround sound.<br><br>This Limited edition comes in a special SteelBook case and includes the full game as well as a code to download soundtrack music.

    Final Fantasy Zodiac Age

    The game is fun. Cutscenes have interesting bits of story, but sometimes the voices and the mouths speaking lag. Grinding is fun. I like the double speed mode. Feels like I can cover a lot of ground quickly. The jobs system is different and you really gotta read about all of them before you choose. It's a fun but different game to play if you are coming from FFXV, which these games do not compare in quality, visuals, and the such. This game is closer to a turn based beat 'em up whereas FFXV has no turn based features. If you haven't played a final fantasy yet I'd go with 15 first just for quality. This game is not difficult but I'm not amazed with it like I was with 15.

    A brilliant remaster that enhances an already phenomenal game.

    An incredible tour de force from SquareEnix that not everyone will be able to undersand and appreciate. Right from the opening scene, the art direction and worldbuilding are phenomenal. The dialogues and voice acting have an eloquency and maturity rarely found in games. The story may become a bit sparse in the second half of the game, but if you enjoy political conflicts between memorable characters, there's a lot to like in FFXII. The gameplay innovates in many ways that can throw off players who are too attached to the classical JRPG formula, but once you the combat clicks with you, you will enjoy the steady progression and strategic depth all the way to the end. The world is vast, has a rich history and variety of cultures, allows for a lot of exploration, and areas are interconnected ...

    Great classic game!

    This is a great classic game with updated graphics and including the Zodiac System of job acquisitions. The game play is just as remembered it to be and the version is more vibrant.

    AWESOME!!!

    If you're a Final Fantasy old school player, like me, you have to give it a chance! The story it's ok, but the gameplay, wich is where you're gonna spent the most of the time (90% at least if you wanna get all the stuff), the gameplay was waaaay ahead of his time.
