A great Factory replacement and Upgrade
I decided to go with a factory "head" unit to simplify things a bit. I am glad I did. A decent aftermarket radio could cost a lot more and the installation can sometimes be a nightmare. I had already replaced the factory speakers with four Rockford Fosgate R1 series speakers. 6 3/4 round two way in the doors, and 6 x 9's in the rear. I was also running a Kicker DX 250.1 class D amplifier for Bass and added 2 12" subwoofers in a medium size box. I also added a 2 farad capacitor for power stability. My Old head unit CD player skipped and the Radio couldn't tune stations in very well where I live. Also, the Audio didn't sound right no matter how I adjusted the Fade, Balance, and Base, Mid, and Treble. The New unit arrived and was well packaged in a " 1factoryradio2" logo box and was a ... Now the CD player doesn't skip, and the stations tune in fine. The music now integrates better and the speakers and subwoofer disappear spatially within the vehicle interior. Before, the audio was discernable from where the speakers were located. Now it is hard to tell. All the functions on the new radio work as expected. The Aux input jack is a really nice upgrade for me. I play less CD's now. In all the 1factoryradio2 radio is a huge success. Simple and keeps the factory look while still being an upgrade. My Dodge Dakota Factory radio did not have a auxiliary plug built-in and I always want to use my smartphone, but I couldn't and now I can. The radio and CD player plays great. I just have one problem the auxiliary plug is not stationary but other than that it's okay. All the radio display lights works and I did not realize it has so many lights because mine was not working properly. Now it make my dashboard console look even better. Radio is great, AUX ... not so much. Still would recommend the radio.
Wasn't interested in the AUX input, just the radio and CD player. However, when selecting the AUX input I get a little "hissing" static noise without anything plugged in the jack. Plugged in, touching the jack at all gets a "crackle". All the radio functions work fine, display is fine, CD player works fine and all sounds great. 5 stars if not for the small amount of white noise or hissing from the AUX input.Wasn't interested in the AUX input, just the radio and CD player. Good quality refurbished factory unit
Good quality factory refurbished radio, very easy install and works well, CD sound may not be as refined as original, display is scratched a little. Still an excellent value I am very happy with for a 15 year old truck.
