Product Information

The Garmin GPS receiver is a cost-effective, efficient, and compact satellite navigation system. This large-screen GPS receiver has a screen size of 4.4 inches by 2.5 inches in width and height, with a length of 5.0 inches. The Garmin nuvi 1450LMT has a screen resolution of 480×272 pixels and has a WQVGA color TFT display. It is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery which has a battery life of three hours. The Garmin GPS receiver is preloaded with street maps, many preset waypoints, and ten routes. The map database within the Garmin nuvi 1450LMT can be updated. The large-screen GPS receiver has a built-in, solid state memory, the capacity of which can be expanded with micro SD data cards. The Garmin GPS receiver has an internal speaker that annoz. directions along with street names. It also features an anti-theft system. Other notable features within this navigation system include lifetime traffic updates, lane assist, junction view, ecoRoute for producing fuel-efficient routes, and automatic sorting of multiple destinations to find the most effective routes.

    This GPS has problems

    I had the same GPS that I brought in 2011. It was very good. But the one I just purchased has some problems. First, it doesn't take charge using its own charger. I had to buy Garmin GPS USB Port Charge & Power Cable With Mini USB Plug NO PC Sync Problem at $19.99 from Ebay too. It takes some charge now, but discharges quickly.

    Nuvi 1450LMT

    I'm using this Nuvi 1450LMT anywhere we go because it's very reliable even in Canada. The only thing you need to watch when buying this Nuvi 1450LMT is, when you intend to use this outside the U.S. Make it sure you have the Nuvi 1450LMT that include outside the U.S. maps 'cuz not all Nuvi 1450 LMT includes outside the U.S. maps.

    Better than the new ones

    I have three 1450LMT units...they perform extremely well and are much easier to see and read than the brand new ones...bought the latest one at Sam's Club the other week...very hard to see in sunlight and the numbers (and some images) were much smaller than the 1450LMT, therefore very hard to read...so after 1 week I returned it.

    Better than my built-in-dash GPS

    Unlike the very expensive in-dash GPS unit in my car, the Garmin maps can be updated free for life, it monitors current traffic conditions to adjust routing, it shows me the posted speed limit, and its user interface is much more "friendly". I already had this model Garmin in my other car. So this purchase was to get an identical GPS, and to use it instead of the in-dash unit. That gives us the same great user interface for both of our vehicles.

    good value for the buck !

    I got this tried it out at first it didn't see all the roads. Then I updated it (this was a test anyways) bingo firmware update map update and it is spot and fast. Love it.
