'Joy As an Act of Resistance' is the follow up to the Bristol 5-piece's debut album 'Brutalism', self-released in 2017. The album takes aim at everything from toxic masculinity, nationalism, immigration, and class inequality - all while maintaining a visceral, infectious positivity.
Additional InformationDespite lacking the element of surprise, Idles' second album finds the band as vital as ever while simultaneously exploring darker and lighter hues.
Reviews"Despite the visceral joy and catchy melodies of the music; it's Joseph Talbot’s lyrics that are the main event.", "These 12 piledriving songs documented a search for contentment and happiness in the face of a painful existence.", 5 stars out of 5 -- "This record is -- for the most part -- serious business delivered with a smirk, heavy subjects handled with lightness of touch."
Unreal record, amazing lads, proud to be Bristolian. Unfortunately the record inner sleeve ripped when I pulled the record out because of static and the material. But amazing record, amazing to have on wax.
