For those builds with a specific application... you can't go wrong!
If you are one of those that don't have enough to buy all new parts for a build but you have enough laying around to cobble something together that "just works" then this will be the board to get. Be warned that if you have grand ideas of adding multiple graphics cards, overclocking or shove ans much as you can in one box then this may not be the direction you want to go. But if you look deep enough and do your due dilligence you can have a smokin' system that will take care of a bulk of your daily needs even in content production. I use these boards for audio work... Add RME RayDat and Linux and you are off to the races. The extra storage function by adding a PIKE board to it can turn this system in to a very capable file server for your home in a pinch, as well as cut or convert video for your epic movie. Granted at the time this board came out PCIe Gen2 was all the rage but with a good graphics card you should have little to no issue putting together a good working system.. plus if you just need a box to test the latest distro or something to test an idea ..
