Product Information

Their nest egg stolen out from under them by a deceitful French financer, a divorced couple recruit their former neighbors to help them steal the $10 million diamond that their nemesis has just purchased for his fiancée. Richard (Pierce Brosnan) and Kate (Emma Thompson) may no longer be married, but they still quarrel like a couple who have spent their entire lives together. Meanwhile, their once-secure future comes crashing down all around them when scheming French CEO Vincent Kruger defrauds Richard's investment firm, and steals his pension fund. Indignant after learning that Kruger has just purchased a $10 million diamond for his fiancée, Kate proposes that they nick the rock, enlisting their former neighbors (Timothy Spall and Celia Imrie) -- who long to see their favorite couple reunited -- to help them pull off the elaborate heist in the scenic French Riviera.

    Music over powered dialogue & became a filler for bad writing and editing. Felt bad for the actors.

    Dated is what comes to mind. Thought I would enjoy given the actors and actresses but it failed to deliver and mainly due to the era of the movie. It just fell short and would not recommend. I will not watch again and barely hung in for the first time. I felt as if the movie was cut and edited with abandonment. First thing was the horrible music so loud it over powered the dialogue. I figured that was a glitch with just the start as sometimes it happens. NOOOO it continued through the movie and just became a filler. In the end I felt bad for the actors trying to give a good performance but against a battle of poor directing and writing and worse editing I'd seen in ages.

    Loved The Love Punch

    Wonderful cast, amazing locations, good balance of humor and action. The plot is a little far-fetched, but Brosnan and Thompson are so engaging, you just sit back and enjoy their chemistry. Very entertaining; if you enjoyed Pierce as James Bond, you'll get a kick out of seeing him playing an older variation on the suave action hero.

    upbeat comedy

    A comedy that's actually funny without being disgusting or lewd (well an implication but nothing seen) very good cast of characters that interact well together. Moves along nicely not slow at all. No cursing either.

    Great movie, new DVD, but no subtitles.

    Closed captions or subtitles are not available on this DVD. The movie is amazing, but if you are hearing impaired, you are just watching the screen. It was a new DVD and in perfect condition.
