Excellent Compilation of Cobham's Career
Billy Cobham is one of the greatest jazz drummers of all time. He started performing with Horace Silver and then went on to perform with legendary jazz pioneer, Miles Davis. It was with Miles that he met guitarist John McLaughlin and later formed the groundbreaking fusion band, The Mahavishnu Orchestra. After the MO broke up, Cobham released this series of albums on the Atlantic label. Many of the songs on these albums, such as Stratus and Snoopy and the Red Baron, have become classics that have been covered by many other jazz artists (Marcus Miller, Jeff Beck, etc.). The remastered albums in this boxed set all sound fantastic and are packaged in miniature album covers. The price make this a bargain.
