This is David's fourth solo album, and the first since 2006's # 1 album On An Island. The primary lyricist for Rattle That Lock is Gilmour's long-term writing partner, Polly Samson, and the album is co-produced by David Gilmour and Roxy Music s Phil Manzanera. The striking cover has been art directed by Dave Stansbie.

Still waiting for the big hit, maybe next one.
I know it's David Gilmour, and you might say that because he was crafted in the Pink Floyd universe, it must be great. Well, nothing to say about the production, the musicianship, the skilled, extraordinary guitarist he is but... I was reading some reviews of this recording, and I was surprised because many of them gave it several thumbs up. So, with very attentive ears, I set high expectations throughout the songs, because that is what you must demand from this artist—some sparks here and there, but not attractive at all, not a single song that keeps me rocking and rolling. It's just like the best ideas were left in the past. My greatest feeling goes to the extraordinary cover, and it also contributes to the overall rating. I will keep "Rattle that Locks" as part of the legacy of this man, because he is an artist that I support and one of the best ways to do it is getting his artistic offerings, but I know that it won't be a first hand selection when I want to be in an immersive state of mind.Bestätigter Kauf: JaArtikelzustand: Gebraucht

David Gilmour beyond Pink Floyd.
David Gilmour is still writing and performing great songs. He keeps going beyond Pink Floyd. There is still the Gilmour guitar and voice and the influence of Pink Floyd, but it is distinctly David Gilmour. As always, he has great musicians playing with him. Very Good!

Gilmour "shines" on this one !
David Gilmour has always been cutting edge, and this collaboration with Phil Manzanera , is another "diamond" ! The selections are very broad ,and innovative, from a "smoky " jazz sound with saxophone, to spacey guitar solo's ,it is a must have for fans of David. One more observation.
