A great unit for the price
This unit is absolutely great for its price, my wife is from another country and I got it to help her get around now that she has a license. Lane assist and routing options are very helpful for new drivers so they can avoid congested highways and know what lanes to be in. I registered it with Garmin and made sure to update the map to the newest available one. It has so many useful options that are simply not found on older gps units. We are even planning on getting the backup camera add on for it now. Also with the smartphone app this unit is good for hands free calling and getting even more detailed traffic info. I may have just got it for her but with all its functions we will definitely be using this on future road trips as it has many features to help locate new and interesting places. Normally I just use my phone but this this unit is even more accurate than Google when it comes to locating a specific address. Over all I would recommend this for newer drivers and people who really like to go on road trips as this unit can actually assist you in finding great places and even highly rated local restaurants. I never thought I would use a GPS again since I have unlimited data on my phone but this one has actually changed my mind. Clearly garmin has found a way to stay ahead with units like this.

It seems to be a good performer. The only problem is that i didn't come with the power/antenna cable to enable traffic!!!. I was very dissapointed.
So far this unit size, 5" is great. it has all kind of bells & whistles. The only problem is that it didn't come with the power/antenna cable that is necessary to receive traffic information witch is basically one of the main features of this particular model. I was really in disappointment since this problem wasn't disclosed in the advertising on the Ebay page. At this point and time i believe that I am entitled to get the mentioned cable witch I believe must be part of the system. J.O.

my 5th Garmin
This is a great machine. It is my 5th Garmin. Every few years I update my Garmin. True, there are 7 inch machines out now, but this is perfect for me --- not too large, but much bigger than my previous Garmin GPS. Everything is better, bigger and faster than before. And they have gotten rid of that traffic receiver in the cord --- it is now built into the GPS. I love to search a city before going there to find hotels and shops --- very easy to change the city to where I am going and see everything I need. Then I go to the information about each --- address and telephone numbers and make my reservations. These are wonderful phone books all in one. My only two complaints are these: I wish they used the mini type plugs. They kept the older style and now I need a cable for the Garmin and a separate one for my phone. I wish the battery lasted longer. I keep it plugged in while I use it, but it would be nice to be able to go more than an hour on foot (the battery is rated at only one hour). Otherwise a great machine. I absolutely recommend it.

Very nice gps
This GPS is very easy to use and easy to set up. It is pretty good with voice recognition but it seems that I have to speak a little loud at times for it to understand me. A negative is even after the updates the map seem to be slightly outdated but not to the point that it's an issue. The traffic updates are there but also do not seem to be quite as accurate as Google. Very easy to add trips as you're driving and very easy to find places on the way. If they could get a format as simple as "ok Google" where you can just speak a couple words to find anything, I would definitely give it a 5.

Great except for one design flaw
I've been using this GPS for several days, and the features are wonderful. The only problem is that during daylight hours, the beautiful six inch screen acts as a mirror; I see myself instead of the GPS display. I noticed that after-market screen covers are available on eBay. My previous Garmin GPS did not have this problem. It appears that Garmin made an error in the design. Perhaps they should have tested it in the "real world".

I love this GPS
I have used this for MANY thousands of miles, coast to coast, North and South too, and this GPS works GREAT. From highways to dirt roads, this thing knows them. The lane advisor feature saves a lot of last minute lane changes, something I really appreciate. Just one flaw, the SOFTWARE is absolute GARBAGE, so don't get your hopes up about plotting trips, reviewing old ones or even the easy stuff other companies offer with their units. The many useful GPS features makes up for that easily.

Good Unit, But Does not Work with voice commands in American English.
Works well, consistent with most Garmins, and especially other Nuvis. The unit I received will not work with English voice commands, so....so much for that feature. The display is bright, the GPS receiver is accurate and sensitive (even indoors), and I like it better than the 5" Nuvis I have.

Manufacturer Refurbished Garmin
I was skeptical about purchasing this refurbished Garmin but when it arrived, it was just like a brand new product! Very satisfied. The only complaint I have is on Garmin's Traffic feature which doesn't have anything to do with being refurbished. The coverage for this traffic feature seems to be VERY limited and is something I would definitely not recommend unless you live in one of the coverage areas, check Garmin's site. Also, initially I thought the 6 inch screen might be a little big but now that I have it, I do appreciate it's size in my Sienna van.

Love it
Find it easy to use, lots of great features . Only problem ours didn't have instruction book. Ordered one on line. Also found the voice control hard to understand. All in all glad we purchased it.

A great GPS!
Just did a 400 mile trip and this GPS worked great! Very good directions in rural and city locations. And something I really wanted in a GPS; an altimeter! You can program the trip window to show whatever you want, including elevation. A few people didn't like the screen in bright sunlight, saying it was hard to see. We were in desert sunlight, I didn't even have the screen on full brightness, and it was easy to see. This one is so much better than the 10-year old Nuvi it replaced. The backup camera will be added next for my conversion van. The friction dash-mount is definitely recommended for the large screen as the old 4.3 inch kept pulling the suction windshield-mount off. The friction mount stays put even with serious side movement. If this GPS lasts for a few years it will have been a great investment!
