Great price for five noir classics.
I was very pleased to see these five classic noir films in one box wrapped in individual cases with the original cover/poster art and expert commentary by Scorsese and others. Out of the Past and Asphalt Jungle are undisputed classics, while Gun Crazy and The Set-Up with Robert Ryan are low-budget noir at its very best. Some, in fact, consider Gun Crazy as the best of them all. Only Murder My Sweet is of a second tier, in my opinion, but many love Dick Powell as Marlowe; me, not so much. Still, having that Dmytryk-directed film as a fifth-best film in a box set is not too shabby.

all in the image...River of No Return
Old physical media are great avenues to view the past in a way impossible from books. As the plots of each movie play out , the viewer can experience yesterday's economic growths, the possibilities available to the public at the time, How so much of our earth and lives have changed. It is not only about the plot of the movie, experience the music and the visuals as Computer Generated Integration has taken over for "actual" events and locations of the past. Enjoying the movies is a combination of all of the ways the directors desired you to enjoy the movies....unlike todays CGI's effects, movies were done the old fashion way, ON location, with live visual effects.....buy some, you will see.

Great Bunch of Bettter Film Noir
Collection of some of the better film noirs from 30's through the 50's at a little more than $8 each. Everything in good condition upon arrival.
