Seems like the outdoor temperature is being read from the device on the back though. So any warm surface shows a very hot reading. We set it up outside in the shade and it says 105 degrees when it’s only 96. Looks like this is only useful for indoors only.

I am using this in new condition 360 thermometer indoors. Springfield brand has been trusted engineers for awhile and it's value pricing is always a bargain of a deal. I did not see the 8" diameter until I purchased item reread. I would of preferred a larger diameter but the appearance of this item says alot and I purchased item. Works great and looks great. Thank you

Only complaint I have is not discrete packaging, wasn’t the biggest of fan of having a box with rolling tray and ash tray for my neighbors to see but that’s more of a few and far between complaint I understand. Overall good seller I’ll be back.
