Pilgrim's Progress (2006, DVD)
I first saw this from an old type movie film and on a screen about 25 years ago. My memories of it were pretty much on target. The acting and special effects (other than the martyr scene) are not as realistic as today's movie industry puts out. Still, the overall effect of the movie would do its author justice. I especially found the scenes where Christian comes to the cross and his heavy burden falls off his back and rolls down the hill as he accepts Christ's sacrifice and forgiveness for him. I think that the original movie was perhaps abridged and while that may have made the movie move along faster, I prefer it in the longer form.I first saw this from an old type movie film and on a screen about 25 years ago. Awesome early rendition of The Pilgrim's Progress
I saw this film a few years. I have read The Pilgrim's Progress. This film drew me to the book which is one of the best stories I've ever read! The film doesn't cover exactly everything in the book but it does a good job getting the jest of it. Ken Anderson was an early pioneer of Christian films. He found Liam Neeson before he became a huge movie star. It is a film that is well designed and good for the whole family. It's gospel presentation is excellent as well. An adorable movie
The movie Pilgrim's Progress, was not produced for the sole purpose of entertainment, though rather was produced as an instructional / inspirational film. Yes, as the critics would report, this movie and others like it, were produced on low budgets. Understanding to convey the importance of the message, being the key focal point of the movie, does not require the latest in graphic animation. Though rather the simplicity of production allows one to give focus to the story line without distraction. Again, an excellent movie, especially for children and grand children. As for myself, the movie was purchased so as to take a trip through memory lane, when the movie was shown before our congregation on movie night on 8mm film.The movie Pilgrim's Progress, was not produced for the sole purpose of entertainment, though rather was produced as an instructional / inspirational film. Bunyan did it best. The progress made by Pilgram.
Follows God's written words quiet closely. Very moving John Bunyan did a good job. Showing the way to God.
