    A Must Have for Lovers of Space History!!!!!

    A Must Have for Space Program enthusiasts or lovers of Space History!!! Project Gemini was the stepping stone between the ground breaking Project Mercury and the ultimate Project Apollo! This DVD set includes an originally produced overview of the program and a breakdown of each flight with sections including launch prep and ingress, launch, onboard footage, splashdown and recovery! Only drawbacks are the old-fashioned TV aspect ratio and not being presented in Blu-Ray format. Other than that, this DVD set is extraordinary and highly recommended! It has become one of my favorite historic space programs and a highlight of the turbulent 1960s!!!!

    Humaniy needs humans in space

    I first got this DVD collection at an Army PX when I was deployed to Europe. It gives a great introduction to HUMAN exploration into space. Humanity was made to explore. We left Africa and reached all of the corners of the world because there have always been adventurous humans willing to run the risks needed to find out what was on the other side of the next hill. The success of the Gemini missions misled some to think that the risks were not so great, but each Gemini capsule rode into space atop a controlled massive explosion. Sadly, Apollo 1 and the space shuttles reminded us of these, and, unfortunately, scared the nation away from human exploration. What these DVDs best convey is why humans do it.     Very nice production. Highly recommend for all fans of this period in NASA history when the astronauts perfected the skills needed to travel to the Moon.
