MY "Favorite Year"...and, Peter O'Toole's !!
One of the best films you'll ever see that echo's the time-period of the mid-50's ! Fast, funny, a super-cast, and one of Peter O'Toole's best films...in fact, in an interview he did a number of year's ago, he said it was one of his favorite's of all the movies he starred in. If you're old enough to remember the Sid Caesar Show of the late-40's to mid-50's, you'll understand how this film copies that so very well. If you're not familiar with that era, you'll learn a lot of how it was then. I know: I worked in Golden Age TV from 1953-1957, so I personally have a lot in common with "Benjie" Mark Linn-Baker. Every time I see his character in the film I say "Hey...that was me !" Do yourself a favor: I you wanna have a good laugh, and a good time with the whole family, watch "My Favorite Year" ! Peter O'Toole's performance alone is worth the price of admission, and the final scene is one of the funniest ever filmed ! Jonnie King

Peter O'Toole as Errol Flynn -- A Winner!
"My Favorite Year" offers a fictionalized glimpse into an aspiring young television writer's encounter with Errol Flynn, the great swashbuckler and womanizer. An aging Peter O'Toole plays the aging-but-still-charming Flynn while Joseph Bologna plays a thinly veiled Sid Caesar with union problems. Meanwhile, Flynn schools the young man in the nuances of romance to help the lad win the girl of his dreams.

Brash, funny, poignant, ultimately human.
For me growing up in this time period, when tv was in its infancy and movies and movie stars were larger than life, brought back memories of childhood idols from both the big and the small screen. Brash, funny, poignant, and ultimately human. An entertaining look at that heroic spark that is in all of us, looking for release.

My Favorite Year
I bought this DVD for my son who absolutely loves this movie. It is very entertaining. Peter O'Toole is wonderful in this role.
