When the group's streak of 26 consecutive number-ones hits ended with 2004's "I Choose You," the notable women's quartet didn't make major revisions to their sound. They did, however, embellish their harmonic adult contemporary with elements of country pop.
The sextet conveys its faith in the same style as FFH or Casting Crowns. Then there are generic contributions like "Bigger" and "Closer to You" that tend not to say anything memorable. The glaring mismatch throughout the album is the combination of watered-down lyrics -- which typically appeal to teen audiences -- and a sophisticated, adult contemporary sound.
Karen Clark-Sheard was the second gospel powerhouse who found herself without a label home after the implosion of Elektra Records in the mid-2000s (the first one was Yolanda Adams). As if coming full circle, the songstress finally settled with Word Records, the same record label she and her siblings left in the early '90s for greener pastures, just as the group's star was diminishing following Twinkie Clark's decision to launch a ministry of her own.

King Crimson fell apart once more, seemingly for the last time, as David Cross walked away during the making of this album. It became Robert Fripp's last thoughts on this version of the band, a bit noiser overall but with some surprising sounds featured, mostly out of the group's past -- Mel Collins' and Ian McDonald's saxes, Marc Charig's cornet, and Robin Miller's oboe, thus providing a glimpse of what the 1972-era King Crimson might've sounded like handling the later group's repertory (which nearly happened).
Deyo's passionate calling hasn't changed since heading Sonicflood, yet a change in direction might be what fans and critics expected by this point. Unveil shines with pulsating sonic rock. ~ Jared Johnson.
Although Christian rock band Pocket Full of Rocks have been together since 1995, this 2007 release marks only their second national release. This might explain why the band has a tightness that often comes from touring and playing together relentlessly.
Needtobreathe - Heat 3:52. Let's just say that these boys from South Carolina didn't exactly scrap their plans to conquer the world after their critically acclaimed 2006 debut. They also toured with Train and Collective Soul, the latter of whose frontman Ed Roland shares producing credits on this album with Rick Beato (Shinedown).
